Job summary

Pet Valu Canada Inc. is hiring for a Sales Associate at our Langley, BC location. You will help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and pet care solutions while working as part of a team of Pet Experts passionate about helping pets and their families.

The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and accurate cash handling, with opportunities to learn and grow in a leading North American pet retailer.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in retail sales or customer service.
• 1 year experience with pets.
• Knowledge of technology sales or technical products is advantageous.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
• Proficiency in cashiering and maintaining accurate transaction records.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation and comfortable around animals.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems to process transactions.
• Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend products.
• Demonstrate product features and conduct product demos.
• Upsell additional items to increase sales revenue.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Bilingual skills are a plus for assisting diverse customer needs.

The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol and Total Pet and together we are one of the largest retail operations in North America dedicated to providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles and small animals.
