Job summary

Pet Valu in Calgary, AB is hiring a Sales Associate to help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and products for their pets. You will be part of a team of Pet Experts, delivering friendly service and a positive checkout experience.

Duties include cashiering, stocking, processing orders, and general store upkeep. If you enjoy animals, retail, and flexible scheduling, this role offers staff discounts and training at a leading North American pet retailer.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.
• Reliable transportation to the store and weekend availability.
• Ability to work as scheduled, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Cashier and customer sales.
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork.
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) into stock in the sales area.
• General store maintenance: sweeping and dusting.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and stocking shelves (up to 50 lbs).

Hours: 8-15 hours/week

Wage: $15 - $15.50 per/hour

What you do

• Cashier and customer sales
• Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork
• Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, household items, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store
• Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions
• Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.)
• Other duties and tasks as required
