Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to join the Access and Assessment Centre at Vancouver General Hospital. The role involves comprehensive adult psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for patients 18 and up with addiction and other psychiatric disorders.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, provide pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic care, participate in teaching UBC medical students and residents, and be part of on-call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree and eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Specialist qualification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Eligibility for a clinical faculty appointment with the UBC Faculty of Medicine.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary mental health team.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive adult psychiatric assessments (18+).
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
• Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and allied health professionals.
• Provide psychopharmacology and psychotherapy as part of treatment.
• Contribute to on-call rota as required.
