New Horizon Co-op is hiring a Part-time Pharmacy Assistant at our Downtown Food Store in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This position offers approximately 24-40 hours per week.

What you’ll do :
  • Assess prescriptions to ensure they are current, complete, and authentic
  • Gather information and input data to assist pharmacists in their clinical assessment
  • Maintain record-keeping requirements and protocols in accordance with the Alberta College of Pharmacy and Health Canada
  • Maintain proper drug storage and security
  • Be familiar with third‑party adjudication and related problem‑solving abilities
  • Answer questions from patients within the scope of a pharmacy assistant and escalating questions to qualified team members when appropriate
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals where appropriate
  • Manage prescription and OTC inventory, including daily drug orders through preferred supplier(s)
  • Efficiently prepare prescription products (counting, packaging, labeling, etc.)
  • Handle duties related to prescription drop‑off and pick‑up (e.g., cash register) and managing prescription delivery services
  • Respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with patients
