Part-Time Permanent Housekeeper

Horace Allen School, Coleman

Livingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for a Part-Time Permanent Housekeeper (4 hours per day) at Horace Allen School located in Coleman, AB. Shift is from 3 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of more hours in the evening or on weekends based on need.

The applicant must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site.

Housekeeper work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, cleaning equipment, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various chemicals.

Typical duties of a Housekeeper include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning thoroughly all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions
  • Washing of all desks, counters, doors, windows, etc.
  • All dusting in the school
  • Mopping, vacuuming, and waxing of floors
  • Securing of Division buildings
  • Garbage collection and removal
  • Preventative maintenance – tightening furniture or changing light bulbs
  • Snow and ice removal from walkways if needed

This position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator, the School Head Custodian as well as the School Principal. The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.

  • Capable of working alone and with minimum supervision
  • Organize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions require
  • Capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks daily
  • Display a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staff

Conditions of Employment
