Position Overview

Part‑Time Permanent Housekeeper (4 hours per day) at WA Day Elementary School located in Fort Macleod, AB. Shift is from 3 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility of more hours in the evening or on weekends based on need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning thoroughly all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions.
  • Washing of all desks, counters, doors, windows, etc.
  • All dusting in the school.
  • Mopping, vacuuming, and waxing of floors.
  • Securing of Division buildings.
  • Garbage collection and removal.
  • Preventative maintenance – tightening furniture or changing light bulbs.
  • Snow and ice removal from walkways if needed.
Qualifications
Mandatory
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
Additional
  • Demonstrated initiative and good judgement.
  • Ability to build positive relations with staff that values a team environment.
  • Capable of working alone and with minimum supervision.
  • Organize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions require.
  • Capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks daily.
  • Display a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staff.
Fitness and Abilities
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently.
  • Able to work in a highly active physical environment.
  • Able to work with a variety of chemicals.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.
