Job summary

Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated Practical Nurse Instructor to teach Clinicals at Cowichan District Hospital from our Duncan, BC campus. This part-time role offers opportunities for growth in nursing education and mentorship.

The successful candidate will hold a current BCCNM registration (LPN/RN/RDPN), have at least 2,800 nursing hours (including maternity or mental health or acute care), and be able to travel to local sites within the region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, including maternity, mental health or acute care.
• Current full registration with BCCNM as LPN, RN or RDPN is required.
• Previous instructor experience is an asset.
• Experience with Office 365 and SIS is an asset.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills are essential.
• Ability to travel to local sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in lab and clinical settings.
• Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum aligned with PTIRU compliance.
• Provide hands-on training and supervision in clinical environments.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
