Description

The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for part-time Nurse Educator positions to commence January 2, 2026. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

The position responsibilities include clinical supervision of nursing students in our undergraduate nursing programs in a variety of healthcare settings, our simulation centre and our nursing addition. The Nurse Educators will contribute to academic and professional service within the school.

Course Number and Title

NURS 334 Integrating Nursing Roles & Practices IV: Care of Persons Experiencing Complex Co-Morbidities and Chronic Health Challenges

Course Start and End Dates

January 5, 2026 – April 6, 2026

Class Schedule

Clinical days are Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday. Nurse Educators will support up to two clinical groups during the semester. Specific details related to dates and location will be determined.

Delivery Mode

In-person. Locations include on-campus and partnering healthcare facilities (in North and East Nova Scotia).

Duties

Nurse Educators support a range of experiential learning for students within the Rankin School of Nursing including clinical placements, labs and simulations while working closely with colleagues, clinical course leads and faculty. Expectations of the role include, but are not limited to, supporting student orientation to clinical settings, providing direct and indirect clinical supervision (depending on the clinical course assigned), delivering course content, administering and evaluating assignments, and assessing skill and competency of students throughout the program. Nurse Educators are expected to participate in school meetings and hold regular office hours for students.

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse without terms, limitations or conditions.
  • A BScN degree.
  • A minimum of five years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional nursing and an ability to work collaboratively with others.

Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an asset.
