Position Summary

Next Gen Pastor Job Description Position Summary: The Next Gen Pastor is responsible for overseeing and leading the children's ministry and youth ministry at Life Centre Church. This role involves developing, planning, and implementing programs and activities that foster the spiritual growth of children and teenagers from infancy through grade twelve. The Next Gen Pastor will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports the church's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities for children\'s ministry programs and youth ministry programs.
    • Plan and coordinate special events, including Day Camps (VBS), holiday programs, and outreach events.
    • Ensure all programs align with the church\'s mission and theological beliefs.
  • Leadership and Volunteer Management:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for the children\'s ministry.
    • Provide ongoing support, resources, and development opportunities for volunteers.
    • Schedule volunteers and ensure adequate staffing/supervision for all activities involving children and youth.
  • Pastoral Care and Engagement:
    • Build relationships with children, youth, and their families, providing spiritual guidance and support.
    • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all children and youth, including those with special needs.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed about ministry activities and their child\'s spiritual development.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Develop and manage the budget for next gen ministry, in collaboration with church leadership.
    • Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer hours, and other relevant data.
    • Ensure compliance with church policies and safety protocols, including background checks and Plan to Protect training for volunteers.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the Lead Pastor and Pastor’s Council to integrate next gen ministry into the broader church community.
    • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other church activities as required.
    • Communicate effectively with church leadership, providing regular updates on next gen ministry.
Task Summary
  • Lead the weekly children’s and youth programs (40%) – oversee curriculum selection, administrative tasks, preparation, delivery, and all administration involved in weekly next gen ministry.
  • Strategically plan and execute special events and outreach (20%) – Day camps, seasonal events.
  • People and personal development (20%) – spiritual care, meeting with families and volunteers, attending conferences and classes that build your ministry.
  • Recruitment and training of volunteers (15%)
  • Administrative (5%) – attend meetings with the Lead Pastor and Pastor’s Council.
Required Skills
