Job summary

METRO in Orleans, ON is hiring a Meat Clerk for part-time and permanent roles in the meat department. You will receive deliveries, stock displays, rotate and inspect meat, monitor temperatures, and uphold food safety standards to ensure high quality products for customers.

You will assist shoppers, help them find items, and provide recommendations while maintaining hygiene and proper labeling. This fast-paced role requires teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• Meat product knowledge and merchandising experience considered an asset.
• Customer service driven.
• Strong communication skills.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload meat deliveries and store properly.
• Stock shelves, coolers and displays with meat products.
• Rotate stock to ensure freshness.
• Inspect meat products for quality and freshness.
• Monitor temperature in coolers and displays for proper storage.
• Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene.
• Assist customers locating products and provide recommendations.
• Ensure all meat products are labeled with prices and information.
• Update signage for promotions and seasonal items.
• Follow sanitation procedures and report safety concerns.
