Job summary

The University of Calgary’s Student Wellness Services is seeking a recurring part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary clinic team on the main campus in Calgary, Alberta. The role supports student health through primary care, immunizations, and triage in a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Active licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
• Current CPR-C/BLS certification.
• 3–5 years in public health, primary care, or mental health.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Accuro or similar).
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Strong nursing assessment skills and clinical judgment.
• Ability to multi-task and manage a variable workload independently.
• Experience with a multidisciplinary team and respectful collaboration.
• Public health vaccines and intradermal injections preferred.
• Experience in minor triage and instrument processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate triage, chart notes, and prep for appointments.
• Educate patients on health concerns and post-care directions.
• Assist physicians with procedures and vaccine administration.
• Coordinate labs and diagnostic tests; explain results.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and vitals.
• Maintain equipment and stocked exam rooms; ensure confidentiality.
• Support vaccination programs and immunization campaigns.
• Collaborate with counselling and SAS to coordinate care.
• Assist in administrative clinic tasks and scheduling.
