Job summary

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is hiring a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Hourly for FSCD support in Edmonton. You will deliver high-quality child care and provincial curriculum while providing dedicated one-to-one support to a child funded by FSCD.

Responsibilities include implementing YMCA-approved curriculum, fostering inclusive play, and maintaining safety and documentation. Strong communication with families and adherence to licensing requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Child Care Certification (or in progress).
• Standard First Aid & CPR – C.
• Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.
• Experience with a tablet and Microsoft Office - Word.
• Some college or better in Early Childhood Education.
• Experience supporting children with developmental disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements approved curriculum to promote development across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive domains.
• Facilitating engaging activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and positive social interactions.
• Observing and documenting children’s development to support individualized learning.
• Maintains a safe and supportive environment following YMCA policies and provincial regulations.
• Communicates with parents daily to provide updates on child development.
• Completes required administrative tasks and supports onboarding of new Educators.
• May assist with lifting, mobility support, and personal care needs in alignment with safety procedures.
