Job description

We are looking for a Part-time Kitchen Assistant who will report to the Centre Director. You will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. Your role will involve food preparation and cooking following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Daily Duties include heating food preparing vegetables and starches cutting fruit portioning dishwashing and delivering food to the classrooms.
• Assist the Chef in preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary requirements.
• Ensure proper food storage and disposal maintain temperature logs and comply with all health regulations and best practices.
• Follow proper washing and sanitizing procedures for all dishware after collection from classrooms.
• Uphold the kitchen cleaning schedule including daily weekly and monthly tasks.
• Duties and responsibilities may evolve depending on the daycare centers needs.

What you need

• Ability to work Monday Tuesday and Thursday; 4 hours a day (10 : 00 amto 1 : 00 pm).
• 12 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a daycare environment is an asset.
• Valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract.
• Strong communication skills.
• A clean criminal record check is required.
• Physical ability to lift push and pull up to 45 pounds.
