Job summary

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is seeking a part-time teacher-tutor for our Mississauga learning centre to help students with Math and English at the Grade 9–12 level. Lessons are pre-planned, and there is full training in our proprietary methods.

Job description

Part‑Time Intermediate Math & English Teacher

Oxford Learning Mississauga Central is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language and social studies and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Tutor‑teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Employment type: Part‑time. Location: Mississauga, Ontario – in‑person, no online. Commute required. Relocation packages not available.

Pay: $18.00 to $19.00 per hour. Term: until June 2027 (preferred). Summer continuing even better.

Schedule

• Evenings (4pm - 8pm)
• Monday to Thursday (Must be available for either Day 1: Mon/Wed or Day 2: Tue/Thurs shift)
• Saturdays (10am-2pm)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grade 9 to Grade 12 curriculum

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Grade 9 to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
