Job summary

March of Dimes Canada in Toronto is seeking three part-time Personal Support Workers to provide in-home non-medical support under the Outreach Program, following individual service plans and policies. This role focuses on dignity, safety, and client-centered care.

Wage is $19.42 per hour, with a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. Hours go up to 30 per week, with mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• PSW certificate is an asset.
• Experience with older adults is an asset.
• First Aid/CPR certification is required.
• English language proficiency required; bilingualism an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in their homes with daily living activities per service plans.
• Provide personal care and attendant services.
• Assist with lifts and transfers.
• Assist with rising and retiring.
• Assist with bowel and bladder routines.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
• Assist with range of motion exercises.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Travel between client locations as required.
• Maintain professionalism and respect for clients' dignity, privacy, health and safety.
• Work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
