Job summary

Oxford Learning Centre is seeking a Head Teacher for our South Surrey Panorama location. This in-person, part-time role focuses on teaching, student support, parent communication, and administrative leadership.

You will work with the Centre Manager and Education Coordinator to run sessions, assess students, coach staff, and ensure a positive learning environment while developing leadership skills. Ongoing PD and a collaborative team await.

Qualifications

  • University degree in English, Math, or Science (social sciences included).
  • Strong knowledge of the BC Math and Science curriculum for Grades 8–12, including Math and Physics.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience working in an educational and/or business environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Availability for afternoons/evenings Monday–Thursday and Saturday mornings.
  • Ability to commute to the centre for all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Teach students in small-group settings approximately 2–3 times per week.
  • Establish and oversee individualized student learning programs.
  • Set up and administer student assessments.
  • Support students in developing stronger learning skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Create a fun, positive, and energetic learning environment.
  • Manage a variety of learning styles, abilities, and classroom behaviours.
  • Participate in opening and closing routines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming centre.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the centre.
  • Use Google Workspace and other software effectively.
  • Learn and implement the Oxford Learning teaching philosophy.
  • Help coach and support other members of the teaching team.
  • Communicate with parents about student progress and learning needs.
  • Meet with parents to discuss their child's development.
  • Respond to inquiries and explain Oxford Learning programs to prospective families.
  • Follow up with prospective clients by phone and other communication channels.
  • Build positive relationships with families and members of the community.

Part-Time Head Math/Science Teacher & Administrative Support

Oxford Learning South Surrey - Panorama is looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, and motivatedHead Teacherto join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with students, enjoys a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and wants to develop bothteaching and leadership skills.

As Head Teacher, you’ll work closely with students, families, teachers, and centre management to create a positive learning environment and help students overcome academic challenges. You’ll play an important role in bothstudent instruction and the day-to-day operation of the centre.

The Opportunity

This is anin-person, part-time positionwith the potential to grow into a full-time role as student enrolment increases.

You will work closely with the Centre Manager and Education Coordinator and will be responsible for a combination of teaching, student support, parent communication, administration, and team leadership.

Your Responsibilities

Must-Have Qualifications

This is an in-person position.There is no relocation package.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

The following experience or qualifications are considered an asset:

  • BC teaching certification and/or Bachelor of Education
  • French and/or Punjabi (equivalent to English levels)
  • Experience supporting students with learning differences, including ADHD, ASD, FASD, MID, dyslexia, and other specific learning disabilities
  • Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, educational leadership, or program coordination
Schedule & Compensation

Job Type:Part-time
Starting Hours:Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Potential Growth:32–36 hours per week as enrolment increases
Salary:$22 – $23/ hour + 4% vacation pay

Monday–Thursday:Primarily 3:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Some shifts may begin as early as 2:00 p.m.

Saturday:9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

The successful candidate must be available to work thefour evenings per week and Saturday mornings.
