Job summary

Gateway Casinos in Canada is seeking a part-time Care Taker/Janitor to maintain clean and orderly facilities. The role requires independent work attitude and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• 1 year of janitorial experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings is an asset.
• Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
• General knowledge of cleanliness and sanitation
• General computer skills such as using MS Office and internet

Responsibilities

• Cleans building floors by sweeping and mopping. Strips, seals, finish, and polish floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Services, cleans, and provides supplies to restrooms.
• Cleans walls, windows, glass partitions, mirrors, vents, fans and some ducts using appropriate tools.
• Cleans, dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and any other equipment.
• Vacuums, steam-cleans or shampoos carpets.
• Cleans and restores building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prepare cleaning solutions and prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
