Job summary

The SSI Group is seeking a Kitchen Helper to assist cooks and servers with tray collection, cleaning, and table reset in a team environment. You will operate dishwashing equipment, mop floors, and maintain clean storage and service areas.

Candidate should have Grade 12, a Safe Food Handlers certificate, and consider customer-facing duties in a seniors-focused setting. Prior experience is valued; strong adaptability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education.
• Recent Safe Food Handlers certificate issued by Public Health.
• Minimum of three years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Helps cook and servers collect and strip trays and tables for washing, clean and reset tables for next sitting.
• Loads, operates and empties dishwasher. Puts dishes away.
• Damp mops floors.
• Cleans kitchen equipment such as blenders, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
• Maintains general cleanliness of the dry goods storage area, walk-in fridge and freezer, receiving area by correct sweeping and mopping of floors, washing of walls and racks.
• Performs all duties in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Ensures that adequate standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in food storage, and food service.
• Ensures availability and maintenance of dietary supplies and equipment and submits requisitions as necessary.
