Job summary

The Government of Nunavut is seeking a part-time janitor for the Community Learning Centre in Resolute Bay. The role centers on cleaning, monitoring the facility, safety and daily custodial duties to support instructors and students.

Local Inuit candidates are prioritized; WHMIS knowledge is an asset, and ability to communicate in Inuktut or English is helpful for interaction with staff and learners.

Qualifications

• Experience as a custodian or janitor and familiarity with safety regulations.
• WHMIS knowledge is an asset; ability to interact with staff and students is beneficial.
• Combination of related education and work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Clean, monitor the facility, and perform safety and security tasks for the Community Learning Centre.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment so daily functions run smoothly for instructors and students.
• Follow a rigorous cleaning routine in line with the College’s policies and supervisor assignments.
• Complete tasks without disrupting instructors and learners.

Education

Grade 10 or equivalent (high school diploma preferred)
