The City of Guelph is hiring part-time Recreation Program Instructors to deliver fun, safe and engaging activities across multiple facilities in Guelph. Instructors will work up to 20 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends, and may rotate across program areas such as sports, theatre, dance and preschool activities.

We seek candidates with youth experience, strong customer service, and the ability to maintain safety and confidentiality.

Competenze

• Experience working with youth aged 2–12 in recreation settings.
• Experience creating and delivering recreational programming.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to respect participant confidentiality.
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C certification.
• A Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.

Mansioni

• Plan, organize, and deliver high quality, safe activities for recreation programs.
• Maintain a safe and clean program space; ensure equipment is safe, age appropriate and stored properly.
• Completes administrative duties (i.e. Attendance, Accident/Incident Reports, opening and closing duties, etc.).
• Take action to deal with incidents, problems, and emergencies as outlined in City of Guelph policies and procedures.
• Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action.
• Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
• Provide a high level of customer service to participants and caregivers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
