North Central Co-op is seeking part-time cashiers for the Stony Plain Food Store in Stony Plain, Alberta. Open availability is an asset and prior retail and cash handling experience is valued.

Provide prompt, friendly service; scan items, process transactions, and resolve inquiries. Manage cash, credit and debit, bag groceries, complete returns, stock front-end areas, and assist in memberships and store events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Prior retail experience preferred.
• Cash handling experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Able to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Intermediate computer skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly and knowledgeable service at all times.
• Scan items and process transactions efficiently; resolve inquiries as needed.
• Handle cash, credit and debit; bag groceries.
• Complete returns according to policy.
• Stock and clean front-end areas; face shelves near the till.
• Open/close registers and reconcile tills.
• Inform customers about memberships and assist in selling new memberships.
• Share information on sales and store events; support team as needed.
