A prestigious university in Halifax is seeking a part-time academic to teach and grade one section of MUSC 4367/5367.03 Topics in Musicology II. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Musicology and have university teaching experience along with effective teaching evaluations. Position Title Part-Time Academic (MUSC 4367/5367.03 Topics in Musicology II) - Winter 2026
Department/Unit: Fountain School of Performing Arts
This Part‑Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of one section of MUSC 4367/5367.03 Topics in Musicology II (Early Ballet, Dance, and Gesture, 1600-1800), from January 1 to April 30, 2026.
The candidate will work closely with teaching staff in the musicology area to coordinate curriculum requirements. The instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment. This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.
A completed PhD in Musicology is required; as well as teaching experience at the university level and evidence of teaching effectiveness (formal course evaluations). Please apply online, with a copy of your curriculum vitae and a cover letter.

All offers of employment as a Part‑Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
