Part Time Academic for Chem 2402: Organic Chemistry II – 1 Lab Assistant – Winter 2026
Responsibilities for this position includes working with the teaching team in the preparation and delivery of all aspects of lab for Chem 2402 in the Winter 2026 term. This may include preparation of course materials, preparation and marking of student assignments/quizzes/midterms/final examination, answering student enquiries, running lab sessions, running tutorials, and other tasks as assigned by senior members of the teaching team. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry.
The position requires a minimum of an MSc degree (PhD preferred) or two years of graduate studies in Chemistry, with a specialization in organic chemistry. Experience providing teaching support for classroom or laboratory teaching at the university level is required, experience at providing teaching support for an undergraduate organic chemistry class is preferred. The preferred applicant must have proven experience in working independently (as well as with a group) and meeting workplace objectives and deadlines.
