A prestigious university in Canada seeks a Part-Time Academic for Chinese 3062.03: Modern Chinese Literature for Winter 2026. Responsibilities include teaching, administering the class, and maintaining communication with the administration. Applicants should possess native proficiency in English and a background in literature. Knowledge of Chinese and previous teaching experience is a plus. Salary based on CUPE Collective Agreement.
The part-time academic is required to teach section (01) Chinese 3062.03: Modern Chinese Literature – Winter Term 2026 (January 1, 2026 – April 30, 2026). Currently Scheduled: T/R 1605 – 1725.
This class is conducted in English. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Instructors are expected to maintain reliable and constant communication with the administration of the Department, to be available for two hours per week for consultation with students, and to have students fill out the evaluation questionnaire at the end of the course. Instructors report to the Chairperson of the Department.
Applicants should have native or near-native proficiency in English and a background in literature or other academic and/or professional qualifications deemed suitable for teaching the class. Knowledge of the Chinese language and previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level will be assets.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
All offers of employment as a Part-Time Academic are conditional upon sufficient student enrolment in the course and approval by the University.
