Position Overview

District of Saanich’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking a dedicated team player to support our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, Healthy Community. The Parks Division is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Parks Clerk to provide administrative and clerical support across a wide range of operational activities. Working in a dynamic environment, the Parks Clerk plays an important role supporting staff, responding to public inquiries, coordinating documentation and correspondence, and assisting with permit, bylaw, and database processes. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy administrative setting and enjoys supporting programs and services that directly impact the community.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, forms, and memos
  • Process office records, invoices, and statistical information
  • Enter payroll
  • Organize departmental mail
  • Respond to public inquiries
  • Create park permits and support bylaw workflows such as Tree Protection Bylaw inquiries and service requests
  • Receive and process payments, prepare deposits
  • Use computerized databases to log, track, and respond to Parks-related requests and concerns
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus up to one year of office administration courses, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One year of office experience that includes interacting with the public and using word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced administrative environment
Compensation and Benefits

C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $35.35 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.
