Job Title

PM-02 - Visitor Services Team Leader II - Campgrounds, Gates, and Day Use Facilities

Location and Salary

Jasper National Park, Jasper, Alberta; $69,062–$74,408 per year.

Closing Date

4 March 2025.

Eligibility

Persons employed or residing within 900 km radius of Jasper, Alberta, with legal status to work in Canada. Must be Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, schedules, and provides coaching/mentoring to up to 20 team members.
  • Manages performance and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Delivers visitor service operations to provide park visitors with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn, and enjoy the natural and cultural resources of the park.
  • Ensures visitor service operations support Parks Canada mandate and visitor experience objectives.
  • Works in fast‑paced, variable environments; solves problems under pressure; leads team to success.
  • Available to start work in Jasper in April 2025 and continue until late September/mid‑October.
Qualifications
  • Secondary school diploma or employer‑approved alternative (e.g., satisfactory PSC test score).
  • Experience in developing programs and providing public services.
  • Experience providing mentorship, coaching, performance evaluations, and training.
  • Experience giving instructions and delivering training to staff.
  • Knowledge of Parks Canada’s mandate, corporate objectives, visitor experience, scheduling, training processes, workplace health and safety programs.
  • Knowledge of resource management (time, financial, human).
  • Strong initiative, resource management, team leadership, and sound judgment.
  • Effective communication and integrity.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to work shift‑work, weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Maintain security clearance and obtain reliability status.
Additional Conditions of Employment
  • Must obtain and maintain Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Work overtime, shift, weekend, and holiday work as required.
  • Travel within Canada and in various terrains.
  • Wear uniform as required; uniforms provided.
