The Opportunity

The Parking Control Technician is responsible for the secure collection of parking revenues, the daily monitoring and maintenance of parking control devices, and the upkeep of related parking infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Supervisor of Parking Operations, this role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of municipal parking systems. The Parking Control Technician provides hands‑on support in the field, responds to service issues, delivers courteous customer service, and supports digital parking technologies, contributing to the effective management of the City's parking operations.

Education (degree/diploma/certifications)

Other Important Information

Location: Operations Center, 165 Ferndale Drive, Barrie, Ontario, or Applicable City Location

Hours: The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Wage: This position is within the CUPE Local 2380 Bargaining Unit with the following pay level and 2025 pay range:

  • Pay Level: Level 5
  • Yearly Salary: $67,371.20 to $80,683.20
  • Hourly Pay Rate: $32.39 to $38.79
