Classification and Salary:
Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) – Park Maintenance Worker 1:
$20.14 - $24.22 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 2 (MSW2) – Park Maintenance Worker 2:
$23.38 - $28.34 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 3 (MSW3) – Park Maintenance Crew Lead:
$24.68 - $30.16 per hour
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
• 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
• 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
• $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
• $2.75 per hour for evenings

We are looking for highly motivated, well-organized, responsible Maintenance Workers for the 2025 summer season. Individuals will be part of a team accountable for providing regular maintenance and operational duties that support the day-to-day operation of campgrounds, day use areas, facilities, and trail systems.
We are currently looking to hire:
• 2 Park Maintenance Worker 3’s
• 1 Park Maintenance Worker 2
• 10 Park Maintenance Worker 1’s
As a Park Maintenance Worker (MSW1), duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performing landscaping, building cleaning, and site servicing of campgrounds, day use areas, and facilities.
• Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment.
• Operating equipment such as mowers, trimmers, ATVs, etc.
• Assisting with trail maintenance, beach, and dock maintenance.
• Installing and maintaining signage.
• Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
• Assisting with hazard tree management and invasive plant management programs.
• Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent occupational health & safety (OH&S) policies, procedures, and protocols; and with the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
• Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses.
As a Park Maintenance Worker (MSW 2), primary duties are to assist Parks Maintenance Supervisor at manual functions, and being accountable for direct sites equipment operations including:
• Assisting with formal and informal inspections, maintenance, and servicing of equipment.
• Operating heavy equipment such as sewer truck, loaders, skid steers, garbage trucks, etc.
• Completing trail maintenance projects.
• Maintaining roads and parking lot areas.
• Assisting with routine playground inspections and maintenance.
• Installing and removing docks, maintaining beaches.
• Operating chainsaws, brush saws, and other higher-risk equipment.
• Landscaping and Facility Maintenance as required per work location.
As the Park Maintenance Crew Lead (MSW3), primary duties include assisting MSW1 Workers with the duties mentioned above in addition to administrative and supervisory tasks such as:
• Onsite lead for a crew of MSW staff. Accountable for direct site operations and for leading the task scheduling for other staff.
• Assisting with formal inspections, maintenance, and servicing of equipment.
• Assisting with playground routine inspections and maintenance.
• Assisting with docks installation and removals, maintaining beaches.
• Conducting purchasing and orders supply inventory within budget.
• Assisting with staff training and staff performance reviews.
• Assisting with service contract management.
All positions will require you to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and will be paid for the number of hours worked. You must have good physical stamina to be able to perform manual duties outdoors and in any weather conditions.

Education and Experience:
Park Maintenance Worker 1 – (Maintenance Service Worker 1)
• Some high school education or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education.
Park Maintenance Worker 2– (Maintenance Service Worker 2)
• Some high school education and one year of related experience or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education.
Park Maintenance Crew Lead– (Maintenance Service Worker 3)
• Some high school education, related training, plus two years of related experience or directly related experience based on one year of experience for one year of education and some supervision experience.
Additional requirements:
• Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent and Driver’s Abstract.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate.
Additional Assets to be successful in any of the roles:
• Experience with hand and power tools; good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance, and safety of small equipment.
• Experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions.
• Chainsaw certification.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaints.
• Experience working within a campground setting.

Terms of Employment:
For the Park Maintenance Worker 1 role:
• Early May start date to late early September end date.
For the Park Maintenance Worker 2 role:
• April start date to October end date.
For the Park Maintenance Crew Lead role:
• April/early May start date to late September/early October end date.
For all positions:
• Access to reliable transportation to and from the place of work.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent will be required.
• Final Candidates will be required to provide an acceptable 3yr Driver’s Abstract. (Will be reimbursed).
• Recognized Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate.
• Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy; all personal protective equipment is provided. Certified Safety footwear is not provided, but candidates will be reimbursed for a portion of the cost.
• These positions will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Training sessions at the beginning of employment are mandatory (early May).
• Staff housing may be available.
