Job description

Our client a leading workplace law and advocacy firm in Western Canada is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Immigration Paralegal to join their team. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with an immigration lawyer on a variety of client matters supporting individuals and businesses with their immigration needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare draft and review immigration applications, submissions and supporting documents.
  • Manage and monitor client files ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements and firm procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, government agencies and internal stakeholders regarding applications and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct research on immigration regulations, policies and precedents.
  • Track application deadlines and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Support with file preparation for submissions and client consultations.
  • Assist with billing invoices and organizing disbursements.
Qualifications
  • Paralegal Diploma or Certificate from a recognized institution (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration law (asset but not required).
  • Familiarity with both temporary residence and permanent residence matters.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with immigration case management software is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client-service focus with a professional and collaborative approach.
