Position Summary

A Paralegal (Level 4) provides sound paralegal and administrative support to members of the Legal & Compliance team.

Position status: Casual (2 days per week).

This role will
  • Undertake routine paralegal and administrative work such as conducting legal research, data entry, reviewing, interpreting and summarising investigation reports and other documents and drafting correspondence and relevant documentation.
  • Follow clear instructions from members of the UNSW Legal & Compliance team.
  • Ensure that matter documentation and records are of an appropriate quality and maintained in accordance with Legal & Compliance’s record keeping requirements. This includes the proper handling of confidential or sensitive information consistent with the obligations of the legal profession.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Close to completion of a law degree.
  • Sound working knowledge of legal principles, procedural reviews and administrative practices.
  • Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and the proven ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
  • Proficient level of computer literacy with sound working knowledge/skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to complete legal tasks independently and to raise questions or issues as necessary.
