Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal at our office located in Richmond BC. This role reports to our in-house General Counsel and works closely with our Legal Administrative Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity for the right person to expand on previous experience working within a property management, franchising, or legal office environment.

Our ideal candidate will be a highly organized and energetic self-starter who enjoys working on all legal matters.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with franchising, real estate, and other corporate projects.
  • Prepare and conduct preliminary negotiations of legal documentation, including : confidentiality agreements, lease, franchise. and disclosure documents.
  • Manage franchise and lease renewals, including : maintaining trackers, coordinating touchpoint meetings, and corresponding with the appropriate departments to ensure timely completion.
  • Electronic and physical file maintenance, including assisting with the onboarding and maintenance of an electronic CLM system.
  • Communicate with franchisees and other departments regarding franchise matters including execution and timeline of franchise disclosure and documentation.
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental and external partners to ensure successful acquisition and completion of legal documentation.

Qualifications :

  • 2-5 years of previous Paralegal experience.
  • Experience in Business Law or Lease / Real Property being an asset.
  • Completed Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from an accredited educational institution.
  • Technically minded with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and CLM File Management Systems.
  • Organized with the ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Communication is top-notch, both verbal and written.
  • Highly resourceful with a track record of anticipating next steps.
  • A natural problem solver who doesn’t shy away from challenges.
  • Experience working with legal documentation, corporate maintenance documents, commercial leasing matters, and franchising matters is a definite asset.
