Job summary

Charlottetown Home Hardware is hiring a Paint Sales Associate to serve customers, recommend products, and keep the store tidy and safe. You will help customers find items, answer questions, and share product knowledge to exceed customer expectations.

The role requires a friendly, professional attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior retail experience is an asset, with basic computer skills and the capacity to lift up to 50 lbs.

Paint Sales Associate

The main objective of this position is to serve customers and recommend products to fill their needs through excellent customer service. When not assisting customers, the focus will be on maintaining a tidy, well-stocked and safe work area. Our goal is to exceed our customer’s expectations and to provide ‘the best customer service experience in PEI’.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greeting customers in a positive, welcoming manner;
• Projecting a professional appearance based on store uniform and hygiene policies;
• Noting suspicious customer activity and reporting it to Management;
• Helping customers find the items they need, answering questions;
• Sharing product knowledge, making recommendations;
• Suggesting products to complement their purchase;
• Placing special orders for customers when required;
• Maintaining confidentiality of store and customer records;
• Assisting customers with carry-outs or curbside pick-up when required;
• Working in a safe manner and maintaining a safe/tidy work area;
• Setting up and maintaining floor displays – keeping them well stocked and signed;
• Assisting other departments as needed – customer service, stocking, cleaning;
• Putting stock away;
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
