Job summary

Carpenter Co. is hiring a Packer on the second shift at our Toronto manufacturing plant. The role involves general labor in the laminated mattress department, including assembling mattresses from foam components and preparing orders for shipment.

Responsibilities include glue application, foam collection, QC checks, labeling, and keeping the department organized. No prior experience is required, but candidates must pass a fit and respirator test, and be able to lift 20-40 lbs and read

Responsibilities

• Pack finished mattresses and components for shipment.
• Apply glue to foam consistently.
• Collect foam from kitting area per customer orders.
• Perform quality checks using visual inspection and measurement.
• Apply labels to finished orders and prep for shipping.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the department.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Packer, second shiftat our Toronto manufacturing plant. The primary job function is to perform general labor duties within the laminated mattress Department.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to build/assemble various size mattresses from foam components or pieces on the line.

Your additional responsibilities as a Packer will include:

• Apply glue to foam on a consistent basis while working with foam.
• Collect foam from kitting area based on customer orders.
• Perform QC checks using visual assessments and tape measure.
• Applies labels to finished orders and preps for shipping.
• General housekeeping of department.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• No experience necessary however, some would be an asset.
• Must be able to pass fit and respirator test arranged and paid for by Company.
• Able to interpret and work with numbers and measurements.
• Able to lift between 20-40 lbs. comfortably.
• General understanding of PPE and use.
• Adaptable and flexible for any change of daily tasks.
• Communicates effectively with employee inquiries or comments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills considered an asset.
• Ability to work under minimal to no supervision.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
