Job summary

FedEx Canada is hiring a Package Handler Trainer at its Toronto facility located at 475 Commissioners Street, Toronto, ON M4M 1A5. This part-time role involves loading and unloading freight, scanning, and sorting freight within the facility, as well as transporting freight within and between facilities.

The Package Handler Trainer also trains other Package Handlers on loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques to ensure efficient and safe movement of packages through the operation.

Qualifications

• Six months experience as a Package Handler (preferred).
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations (Preferred).
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
• Must possess a valid G licence and have a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the 24 months prior to application).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight, scan, and sort freight within the facility.
• Transport freight within and between FedEx facilities.
• Train other Package Handlers on loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques to ensure efficient and safe movement of packages.

Shift Schedule

AM Sort – Sunday to Thursday

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (Preferred)
• Six (6) months of experience as a Package Handler (preferred)
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations (Preferred)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
• Must possess a valid G licence and have a good driving record (two or fewer violations/accidents in the 24 months prior to application)

Additional Information

This job description is general in nature. The incumbent is expected to perform all other duties as assigned, complete mandatory testing and training, operate in a PC Windows environment, complete all recurrence training, and maintain annual accreditations where applicable. Candidates must work varying shifts based on business needs. If residing in Quebec, bilingualism (French and English) is required.
