Job summary

Calgary Drop-In Centre (the DI) is seeking a seasoned P&C Shared Services Administrator to manage payroll, benefits, and HR data integrity. This role supports guests?

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Payroll Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive payroll/benefits administration experience in a complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, employment standards, and privacy requirements.
  • Experience supporting payroll processing, data validation, and year-end activities.
  • Experience administering employee records and maintaining data integrity in an HRIS.
  • Experience coordinating disability management, return-to-work, and leave administration.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver employee and leader support by resolving inquiries and guiding stakeholders through payroll, benefits, leaves, disability management, and lifecycle processes with accuracy and discretion.
  • Drive semi-monthly payroll processing by coordinating inputs, validating timesheets, and supporting audits to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate plan administration, maintain records, and provide clear benefits information to employees and leaders.
  • Navigate leave of absence and disability processes, coordinating case activities and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conduct audits and validations to ensure data integrity and reliable reporting across systems.
  • Process key lifecycle transactions and maintain confidential records within Dayforce and related systems.
  • Act as the payroll and benefits hub, triaging requests and connecting employees with the right experts.

The Opportunity

Position Title: P&C Shared Services Administrator
Reports To: Manager, Total Rewards & Payroll
Employment Type: Full-time
Schedule: 5 days on/2 days off, Monday to Friday
Location: 1 Dermot Baldwin Way SE, Calgary, Alberta

What You’ll Do

Every role at the DI makes a difference. In this position, you will:

  • Deliver employee and leader support by tackling inquiries, solving challenges, and guiding stakeholders through payroll, benefits, leaves, disability management, and employee lifecycle processes with accuracy, discretion, and exception service.
  • Drive accurate semi-monthly payroll processing by coordinating payroll inputs, validating timesheets, managing employee data changes, investigating discrepancies, supporting audits, and providing backup coverage to ensure critical payroll deadlines are consistently met.
  • Strengthen the delivery of benefits and RSP programs by coordinating plan administration, maintaining accurate records and reconciliations, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and ensuring employees and leaders have access to clear, current, and meaningful program information.
  • Champion a positive and supportive employee experience by navigating leave of absence and disability processes, coordinating case activities, ensuring documentation accuracy, and partnering with stakeholders to achieve successful return-to-work outcomes.
  • Strengthen data integrity and operational effectiveness by conducting audits and validations, investigating and resolving discrepancies, reconciling records, validating system transactions, and collaborating with People & Culture, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate data, reliable reporting, and informed decision-making.
  • Optimize data integrity across the employee journey by processing key lifecycle transactions, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant information within Dayforce and supporting systems.
  • Serve as the hub for payroll and benefits support, triaging requests, providing timely solutions, and connecting employees and leaders with the right expertise to resolve complex or sensitive matters.

What we need from you
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Payroll Administration, Accounting, ora relatedfield. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum5-7years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits administration, disability management, leave administration, employee lifecycle processeswithin a complex organizational environment.
  • Strongknowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, Employment Standards, benefits administration, leave management, privacy requirements, and HR record-keeping practices.
  • Experience supporting payroll processing, data validation, reconciliations, compliance activities, and year-end requirements.
  • Experience administering employee records andmaintainingdata integrity within an HRIS and payroll environment.
  • Experiencecoordinatingdisability management, return-to-work coordination, and leave administration practices.
  • Experience conducting reconciliations, audits, data validation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to provide professional,accurate, and confidential support to employees and leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple activities simultaneously, and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven ability tomaintaina high degree of accuracy in payroll, employee records, reporting, and data management.
  • Experience conducting reconciliations, audits, data validation, and quality assurance activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies,identifyroot causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment,maintainconfidentiality, and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector clearance check.
