Job summary

Bulk Carriers (P.E.I.) Limited is seeking qualified truck drivers to haul freight across Canada and into the United States from Clyde River, PEI. You will be responsible for safe pickup/delivery, pre-trip inspections, and staying compliant with all laws while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.

We offer competitive pay at $1.70 per practical mile, fuel surcharge protection, and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class 1A driver license
• Clean driving abstract
• Legally able to enter the United States for work
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to operate satellite/computerized work environment and cellphone technologies

Responsibilities

• Pickup and deliver products to and from within Canada
• Conduct pre-trip inspections
• Secure loads safely and properly
• Operate within provincial, federal, and state laws
• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering added value
• Maintain and operate equipment to legal standards
• Assist with offloading trailers when required
• Complete required safety training and follow policies

Responsibilities

• Pickup and deliver our customers' products to and from and within Canada
• Conduct and record pre-trip inspections
• Secure loads safely and properly
• Operate at all times within all applicable Provincial, Federal, and State laws
• Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction (giving "added value" to our customers)
• Operate and maintain all equipment to Company and applicable legal standards and specifications
• Offload or assist in offloading trailers when required
• Complete all safety training required by Bulk Carriers and adhere to Company and customers' safety policies and standard operating procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

• Truck must be no more than 5 years old when contracted with Bulk Carriers
• Must have a valid Class 1A Drivers License (or Canadian equivalent)
• Acceptable driving abstract
• Legally able to enter the United States for work purposes
• Organized and Detail oriented
• Ability to operate computerized work environment (satellite) and cellular phone technologies

Compensation

$1.70 per practical mile (PC Practical Miles) for all Canada and U.S. miles

• Fuel surcharge program with a company fuel cap to help manage fuel costs
• Safety Bonus of up to $0.02 per mile
• Fuel Incentive of up to $0.02 per mile
• Local Pickup & Delivery (GTA & GMA only): $59.00 per hour
