Job summary

Burnbrae Farms Lyn is seeking Sanitation workers for deep cleaning of their machines and building areas. Overnight shift, full-time onsite, with potential weekend OT. Reports to Supervisor, with no direct reports.

Salary range $22.05–$24.50 CAD per hour; position requires physical work, including lifting and bending, and adherence to CFIA/BRC sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Adhere to food safety standards and chemical handling procedures.
• Know GMPs and HACCP requirements for food manufacturing.
• Comply with WHMIS and safety protocols in the facility.
• Willingness to work all shifts including overnights and weekends.
• Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, sanitize and set up equipment.
• Some lifting involved during cleaning tasks.
• Dismantle and reassemble egg grading equipment for cleaning.
• Follow sanitation procedures to meet CFIA and BRC standards.
• Maintain GMPs and HACCP compliance in daily work.
• Uphold safety with PPE, lifting safety, and chemical handling.

Job Description

Burnbrae Farms Lyn is seeking Sanitation workers for deep cleaning of their Machines and general Building cleaning maintenance.

The Sanitation premise worker is a very important position to ensure that we are cleaning all areas of the manufacturing facility on a regular basis in accordance with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and BRC standards.

Duties include, but are not limited to, dismantling and cleaning packing lanes, washing tanks, cleaning belts, overhead pipes, and all food contact surfaces and machines in production. It will also include dusting, mopping and general upkeep of production and shipping floor areas.

The position requires bending, lifting, and working underneath packing lanes. Attention to detail and good time management skills are an asset.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Dismantling, sanitizing and setup of equipment
• Some lifting involved
• Dismantles and reassembles the egg grading equipment for automatic and manual cleaning
• Adheres to the cleaning and sanitation procedures required for food safety in order to meet internal as well as Canada Food Inspection Agency standards and requirements
• Completes all tasks in accordance with Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) and HACCP requirements
• Demonstrates a commitment to safety in all tasks which includes, but is not limited to, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment, using safe lifting techniques, following lock out tag out procedures, appropriate use, handling and storage of chemicals, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Keen eye for cleanliness and safe use of chemicals
• Ensure all safety requirements are met such as personal protective equipment, WHMIS, lockout/tag out procedures, and chemical mixing precautions
• Comply with government regulations relating to food processing facilities
• Experience in food manufacturing an asset
• Knowledgeable in sanitation procedures (production equipment cleanup/setup, and building services)
• Willingness to work all shifts including Days, Afternoons, Overnights along with weekends
• Dedicated, articulate, attention to detail
• Team player with excellent mechanical ability
