Job summary

Food Basics is seeking an Overnight Grocery Clerk to join our team in a part-time capacity. You will help keep shelves stocked, organized, and ready for customers each morning, contributing to a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, stocking, pricing accuracy, FIFO rotations, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. Flexibility for nights and weekends is required as part of a unionized team.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented role.
• Ability to stock merchandise and create displays.
• Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Retail experience is an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods and work with minimal supervision.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and organize backroom or cooler stock.
• Stock shelves with incoming inventory and place items correctly.
• Face and level products to keep shelves neat.
• Rotate stock using FIFO.
• Set up and maintain promotional displays and end caps.
• Ensure accurate pricing, signage and labelling.
• Keep aisles and work areas clean and safe.
• Sweep and mop floors and address spills promptly.
• Conduct inventory checks and report discrepancies or damaged goods.
• Assist with additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.
• Adhere to company policies and health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
