Applicants must be willing to work nights, be comfortable alone with on-call support, and have union CUPE membership. Ideal candidates bring Grade 12 with a certificate and First Aid, plus experience in behaviour management and basic sign language.

This October 2026 Taproot will be opening this new group home in the Abbotsford area. This home supports two (2) individuals with developmental disabilities. The Home Based Community Inclusion services are intended to ensure the persons serviced supported in the home receive the ongoing support they require to participate in the community in a meaningful way. Some of the activities may include all the residents of the home while other activities may require more of an individualized approach. These services are designed to support persons served to have rich lives within the community and any supports provided will take into consideration the persons served current behavioural, mental health and other disability-related needs, support preferences, and their goals.
The awake residential night worker (ARNW) for this licensed, accredited agency attends to the health, well-being, safety and security of residents and the program site at night, and provides general, non-specific services to clients as required. This position will be alone during the overnight hours and must feel comfortable working alone, with support from fellow team members and the On-Call Manager, as needed. Maintains a comfortable and clean living environment. This position requires union membership with CUPE.
