Overview

OTR Tire Technician — Location: Copper Mountain, BC

Would you like to join Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group team in Copper Mountain, BC, as an OTR Tire Technician? In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair for mining tires, adhering to Kal Tire’s work and safety standards. As an OTR Tire Technician, you will set the standard for service excellence within the mining tire industry and demonstrate Kal Tire’s commitment to quality and safety.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Perform dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repairing of tires for mining vehicles.
• Ensure tires are mounted and repaired safely, following load requirements and safety standards.
• Conduct tire inspections, equipment checks, and maintenance tasks.
• Assist mine maintenance staff as required, supporting their operations with timely tire services.
• Maintain an orderly and safe work environment, ensuring that tire service equipment and tools are properly maintained.
• Assist in maintaining stock for tire-related equipment and ensure the warehouse is clean and organized.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Comply with all site safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Report hazards and unsafe conditions to your Supervisor or Lead Hand.
• Always use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to improving safety practices on site.

Qualifications and Success

Special Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to comply with relevant insurance policies.
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications and training are preferred.
