Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks an Occupational Therapist for Early Psychosis Intervention. You will assess, treat and educate adolescents and young adults in a recovery-focused program, liaising with physicians and community agencies to promote early treatment.

Engagement in group facilitation, psycho-education and family education is essential, with a collaborative approach across an interdisciplinary team to support optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized university OT program.
• Current licensure in BC as an Occupational Therapist.
• Eligible for CAOT membership.
• 1 year psychiatric setting experience with adolescents/young adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services to clients with psychosis in a recovery-oriented model.
• Assess and screen for psychosis and coordinate referrals.
• Liaise with family physicians and community agencies.
• Facilitate activation and psycho-educational groups.
