A regional health authority in Canada is seeking an Orthopaedic Technician to deliver patient care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves applying and adjusting casts and splints, monitoring patients' conditions, and providing education to patients and their families. Ideal candidates will have completed a Licensed Practical Nurse education program and an accredited Orthopaedic Technician program. This part-time role offers competitive hourly salaries ranging from $35.70 to $47.02.
Reporting to the Manager of ER, Orthopaedic Tech Certified performs a care to patients in a fast-paced, high stress environment. You will assess patients (clients, resident), develop and implement care plans and monitor their progress. You will be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions. You will collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes. You will provide training and assist health care providers in the use and care of equipment as well as educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments.
As an Orthopaedic Technician (Ortho Tech), you will apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment utilized in the care of orthopaedic patients (clients, residents). You will observe, monitor, report and document changes in the patient\'s physical, mental and emotional state, while providing safe and effective, quality care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
