Job summary

Servus Credit Union is seeking an Organizational Design and Workforce Planning Consultant to join the People and Culture team. This hybrid role requires the flexibility to work from one of our offices in Calgary, Edmonton, or Red Deer on average 8 times per month.

Reporting to the Director Culture and Employee Experience, you will develop comprehensive workforce strategies, address skills gaps, and lead organizational redesign initiatives to align with our strategic goals and community-focused

Reporting to the Director Culture and Employee Experience, the Organizational Design and Workforce Planning Consultant plays a critical role in evaluating and enhancing our organizational frameworks to drive efficiency, collaboration, and alignment with strategic goals. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive workforce strategies that address talent acquisition, skills gaps, and succession planning to meet future business needs. Your expertise will guide change initiatives related to organizational redesign, ensuring smooth transitions that align with our business objectives and culture.

What You'll be Doing:

• Assess and improve organizational structures to enhance efficiency, collaboration, capabilities, and strategic alignment.
• Develop and implement workforce strategies, including talent acquisition, skills gap analysis, and succession planning.
• Lead and support organizational redesign and change initiatives to ensure smooth business transitions.
• Create and deliver organizational design guidance and education for leaders.
• Balance business needs with organizational design best practices and strategic priorities.
• Partner with senior leaders and People & Culture teams to align workforce strategies with business and culture objectives.
• Translate business strategy into short-, medium-, and long-term talent plans.
• Develop and manage workforce forecasting models and tools using internal and external data.
• Establish and maintain a skills taxonomy to support workforce planning, talent acquisition, learning, and development.
• Monitor and report on organizational design effectiveness, including cost efficiency, span of control, and key outcomes.
• Research and apply organizational design best practices from leading financial institutions and other organizations.
• Conduct workforce gap analyses and forecast future talent needs based on business strategy and market trends.

What you Bring:

You possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders. A strong understanding of organizational development principles and workforce planning methodologies with excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in organizational design and workforce planning.
• Experience in organizational design and workforce planning in a complex organization with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Education:

• Certification in HR-related fields (e.g., SHRM, CPHR) is preferred.
