Job summary

Metro Inc. in Toronto, Ontario is seeking an Overnight Order Selector to join its unionized team.

This permanent, part-time role offers a starting wage of $23.00/hour with a $0.55 premium for overnight shifts and up to 28 hours per week, with potential for more during peak periods. You will select and prepare orders for Metro stores, operate pallet jacks, build pallets, and work in a fast-paced, multi-temperature distribution centre.

Qualifications

• Warehouse, distribution centre, or general labour experience.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
• Comfort working in a physically demanding environment.
• CSA-approved safety footwear.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Basic English communication and comprehension skills.

This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $23.00 - $23.55 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced warehouse setting
• Physically active role with continuous movement throughout the shift
• Multi-temperature environments, including refrigerated areas as low as 0°C
• Exposure to wet or humid conditions in some departments
• Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, and walking
