Job summary

Kent Building Supplies seeks an Order Picker to ensure efficient warehouse flow. You will replenish, pick, store, and build pallets while following safety protocols. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, teamwork, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment.

Starting wage is $16.15 per hour. You will work with shipping staff to ensure accurate documentation and timely order fulfillment in a dynamic Atlantic Canada network.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment; meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Verify outgoing shipments meet packing requirements and are undamaged.
  • Coordinate with shipping personnel for documentation and labeling.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (forklifts, conveyors, hand trucks) and perform routine maintenance checks.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspace; follow PPE usage and safety protocols.

Order Picker plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods within a warehouse. This position involves handling materials, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe, respectful, and organized workspace. Responsible for replenishing, picking, storing, and building pallets, while adhering to quality standards and company safety protocols.

Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment
  • Responsible for picking, packing, and preparing orders for shipment, ensuring all customer requirements and delivery schedules are met.
  • Verifying that outgoing shipments meet packing requirements and are free of damage or errors.
  • Coordinate with shipping personnel to ensure proper documentation and labeling for outbound materials.
Machine Operation
  • Efficiently operating warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts, conveyors, and hand trucks.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure functionality and safety compliance.
Workplace Safety and Organization
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse, following safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Adhere to company policies related to handling hazardous materials, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting incidents.
  • Ensure clear pathways and properly secured inventory to support a safe working environment.
Material Handling
  • Safely move, lift, and organize goods, materials, or cargo within the warehouse, ensuring proper loading techniques.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School or GED required.
  • Previous warehouse experience is considered as an asset.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects or ability to lift 50 Lbs.
  • Excellent work ethic and reliability.

Wages
