Job summary

SBQuantum is seeking an Optomechanical Engineer to evolve our diamond quantum magnetometer's optomechanical subsystem. You will design, fabricate, test, and industrialize a rugged sensor suitable for operation aboard drones and spacecraft.

You will bridge research and product development, delivering lab-grade performance in real-world environments while contributing to manufacturability, reliability, and SWaP-focused design choices.

Qualifications

• Experience designing precision optomechanical systems.
• Experience taking products from prototype through manufacturing.
• Background in optics or optomechanics is required.

Responsibilities

• Transform prototypes into rugged, manufacturable sensors for field use.
• Lead design, simulation, testing, and improvement of the optomechanical architecture.
• Collaborate with external optical consultants and R&D to translate concepts into hardware.
