Job summary

BonLook in Ottawa's Rideau Centre and Bayshore Centre is seeking an Optician to deliver outstanding eyewear experiences and patient care within a dynamic retail-clinic setting.

You will educate patients, assist in selecting eyewear, perform minor repairs, and support clinic operations. A minimum of one year in optics, Ontario registration, and strong communication are required for success.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in an optical setting.
• Ontario registered Optician.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on eyewear options based on lifestyle.
• Help patients select eyewear combining style and vision.
• Perform eyewear repairs and adjustments for proper fit.
• Coach and train team members to uphold optical standards.
• Support retail operations and contribute to clinic success.
• Deliver excellent customer service and patient experience.

Our BonLook - Ottawa Rideau Centre and Bayshore Centre location is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience and join us as an Optician to fill an existing vacancy!

In this role, you’ll enhance the lives of our patients every single day, delivering exceptional vision and eyewear experiences in a dynamic, rewarding, and collaborative environment. This position is a full-time role working 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday.

What You’ll Do

• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring optimal value and quality
• Guide patients in selecting eyewear that combines style with optimal vision
• Perform eyewear repairs and adjustments to ensure proper fit and comfort
• Coach and train team members to enhance their skills, performance, and knowledge to ensure consistent execution of optical standards and processes
• Support retail operations and contribute to overall clinic success
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Minimum one year of experience in an optical setting
• Registered Optician in Ontario
• Proficient with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences
• A collaborative, adaptable, and proactive team player with a growth mindset, able to manage changing priorities effectively
• Bilingulism English/French is considered an asset
