Overview

Our FYidoctors Ottawa - Barrhaven clinic is looking for someone like you to bring your exceptional skills and experience with you and join us as our newest Optical Associate.

This position is a part-time role working 20-29 hours per week. Our clinic is open Monday to Friday.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
• Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best in value and quality
• Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions as well as assisting with the selection of frames to suit your client\'s aesthetic and performance needs
• Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
• Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments to returning patients'
• Placing Contact Lens orders and assisting with fittings
• Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
• Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
• Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments

What Do You Bring?

• Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment preferred
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset
• Passionate about customer service
• A high level of comfort using technology and computers
• A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
