Overview

Our FYidoctors - Comox Valley clinic is looking for someone with exceptional skills and experience to join us as our newest Optical Associate.

This is a part-time role, 20-29 hours per week. The clinic is open Monday to Saturday, and the role will work Mondays, Saturdays and another weekday depending on clinic need.

You will play a critical role within FYidoctors and help drive our success by delivering world-class service to our patients. As a frontline contact with the public, you should bring your passion for people and your drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Welcoming patients into the clinic, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive patient experience
• Educating clients about the best eyewear choices for their lifestyle, ensuring they receive the best value and quality
• Informing patients about advances in corrective eyewear solutions and assisting with the selection of frames to suit the client’s aesthetic and performance needs
• Interpreting optical prescriptions as written by an optometrist
• Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of new eyewear and performing repairs and adjustments for returning patients
• Placing Contact Lens orders and assisting with fittings
• Communicating with patients in person, by phone and by email
• Billing the patient, their medical service provider and other third parties
• Managing appointment bookings, prescription printouts and billing and payments

What Do You Bring?

• Previous experience in a customer-facing, preferably retail environment
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset
• Passionate about customer service
• A high level of comfort using technology and computers
• A great communicator who can provide exceptional patient care
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
