Job summary

Irving Shipbuilding in Dartmouth, NS, seeks a Lead Procurement Team Lead to guide lifecycle procurement for complex systems and materials. You will manage a team of associates and intermediates, overseeing high-impact procurements and ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and cost optimization.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, drive supplier performance, and develop your team through coaching and clear reporting. CGP/ITAR clearances and in-office presence are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of supply chain experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving results.
• Strong background in: supplier performance management (safety, quality, delivery, cost); contracting principles and competitive bidding law; project management, scheduling, and change management; stakeholder engagement and cross-functional communication.
• Excellent communication skills – clear, concise, and professional.

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for leading high-performing teams and driving procurement excellence? Join our dynamic team supporting the River-Class Destroyer (RCD) program, where your leadership will directly impact the success of one of Canada’s most significant naval initiatives.

Team Lead, Procurement, you will manage a team of Associate and Intermediate-level supply chain professionals responsible for lifecycle procurement activities for systems, equipment, and materials. You’ll oversee packages of low to medium complexity and may personally lead high-impact, complex procurements requiring strategic oversight and cross-functional collaboration.

This role is pivotal in ensuring safety, schedule adherence, cost optimization, and maximizing Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) throughout the Design & Manufacturing (D&M) phase.
